SREE AYYAPPA PUBLIC SCHOOL KARATE STAR SHINES AT NATIONAL ARENA: RICHA KUMARI BAGS SILVER AND BRONZE AT ALL INDIA TENSHINKAN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Adding yet another glorious achievement to the ever-growing list of accomplishments of Sree Ayyappa Public School, Bokaro, Richa Kumari of Std. 9–I brought laurels to the institution by securing remarkable honours at the prestigious 24th All India Tenshinkan Karate Championship held on 16th and 17th May, 2026 at Ponda in Goa.
The national-level championship witnessed the participation of talented karate players from various states across the country, making the event highly competitive and challenging. Amidst this tough competition, 14 years old Richa Kumari displayed extraordinary confidence, discipline and martial arts skills, earning a Silver Medal in Kumite and a Bronze Medal in Kata. Her outstanding performance has made the school immensely proud and inspired many young students to pursue sports and martial arts with dedication.
Kumite, which involves combat fighting techniques and strategic defensive skills, demands immense courage, alertness and physical fitness. Richa showcased remarkable agility, speed and determination throughout the event, ultimately winning the Silver Medal in the category. Equally commendable was her performance in Kata, a disciplined demonstration of traditional karate movements and techniques that requires precision, balance and concentration. Her brilliant execution earned her the Bronze Medal in the championship.
The achievement reflects Richa’s continuous hard work, perseverance and commitment towards karate training. Her success at such a prestigious national championship at a young age stands as a testimony to her determination and sporting spirit. The school fraternity celebrated her achievement with immense pride and joy.
The School Management Committee including Chairman Mr. P. Rajagopal, Vice Chairmen Mr. Saseendran Karat and Mr. Mohanan R. Nair, General Secretary Mr. E. S. Suseelan, Treasurer Mr. Balachandran and Director Board Members Mr. Suresh Kumar K. A. and Dr. Suresh Babu congratulated Richa Kumari for her splendid accomplishment and extended their heartfelt blessings for her bright future. They appreciated her dedication, discipline and unwavering determination which brought honour to the institution at the national level.
Principal P Shailaja Jayakumar also expressed immense happiness and congratulated Richa for her exceptional success. She stated that achievements in sports and martial arts play a significant role in shaping students into confident, disciplined and determined individuals. She further encouraged students to actively participate in co-curricular and sports activities to enhance their overall personality and skills.
