GREEN DREAMS IN ACTION: INSPIRING EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS AT SREE AYYAPPA PUBLIC SCHOOL, BOKARO Sree Ayyappa Public School, Bokaro, celebrated Earth Day on 22nd April 2026 with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of environmental responsibility. The celebration aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of protecting nature and encouraged them to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. A series of well-organized activities made the occasion both meaningful and memorable. The programme began with a special assembly. It commenced with a prayer, setting a serene and reflective tone. An inspiring Earth Day song followed, motivating students to take a pledge for the conservation of nature. The “Thought of the Day” emphasized sustainable living and the need to protect our environment for future generations. A well-delivered speech highlighted pressing environmental issues such as pollution, deforestation, and climate change, urging students to become responsible guardians of the Earth. A major highlight of the assembly was a thought-provoking skit presented by the students. It effectively portrayed the consequences of environmental degradation and conveyed a strong message about conservation and responsible living. The programme also included the distribution of certificates for COF and SPELLBEE competitions, recognizing the hard work and achievements of students. Adding a practical dimension to the celebration, a tree plantation activity was organized, where students actively participated in planting saplings, symbolizing hope for a greener and healthier future. To further engage students, various classroom activities were conducted. A drawing competition on the theme “Our Power, Our Planet” was organized for Classes V and VI, where students showcased their creativity and concern for the environment through vibrant artworks. For Classes VII and VIII, a slogan writing competition was held, encouraging students to express powerful environmental messages in concise and impactful words. Younger students of Nursery, Prep, and Classes I to V also celebrated Earth Day with great enthusiasm. Their programme included prayer, thought of the day, a mime act, Sankalp song, pledge-taking, and the National Anthem. Their active participation reflected an encouraging awareness and sensitivity towards environmental protection from an early age. The School Management Committee, including Chairman Mr. P. Rajagopal, Vice Chairmen Mr. Saseendran Karat and Mr. Mohanan R. Nair, General Secretary Mr. E. S. Suseelan, Treasurer Mr. Balachandran, and Director Board Members Mr. Suresh Kumar K. A. and Dr. Suresh Babu, appreciated the sincere efforts, enthusiasm, and commitment displayed by the students. They commended the participants for making the programme a grand success.
